First Blind, Then Deaf

Sigh, this body of mine is getting worse everyday. Previously, I talked about how I had problems with my eyesight and today, I found out that I'm partially deaf! Now I know why when everyone at my age is enjoying music while I thought of them as just loud gibberish. And why I can't listen clear enough when watching tv series if there're no subtitles.

My lunch buddies were talking about ringtones that were set into a certain frequencies and that older people won't be able to hear them. Actually, it isn't really anything new. I remembered watching this Hong Kong tv series by Bobby Au that mentioned this too. Basically, younger people are able to listen to higher frequencies while the older ones would have a lower frequency hearing range. Which is one of the reason the elderly do not like the latest pop music. They would not be able to enjoy the full quality of a high quality CD music because they can only listen to a limited range of the frequencies emitted by the CD player.

I should not have been so busybody. Curious, I googled for these frequency hearing test and I found several. However, I found this one test which indicated the frequency range that a person of certain age should be able to hear. You can find it here:
http://www.freemosquitoringtones.org/

However, I must warn all who visit this website that I will not be held liable if you fell into a depressing state... just like me. Sigh... my maximum hearing frequency is actually 15kHz!!! That's for those at 39 years old... my hearing capability is actually more than a decade older!!!

Argh... isn't it enough that my eyesight is so poor that I'm almost blind and I look old with my poor complexion? Now my hearing too???!!!! What did I do to receive such punishment????!!!! I have always dislike loud music. I rarely listen using earphones and I started to use handphones only 3 years ago and I use it rarely too.

So, why did my hearing deteriorate so much? This is unacceptable. I demand an explaination!!! Hmmm.... or maybe the classifications are wrong? Well, you guys take the test and then tell me how it is. Maybe my hearing is actually the best amongst others... that just make my day! :P

Movie Review 8: Bangkok Dangerous - Hitman With Conscience

Title: Bangkok Dangerous

Director: The Pang Brothers

Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes

Genre: Action, Drama

It has already became a pattern that whenever a movie portrays a hitman, it would be either they kill only the bad guys or the develop "fight evil" nature in the later stages of the movie. I supposed it is unacceptable for a main protagonist to be a heartless, cold killer. Bangkok Dangerous is another such movie.

It talks about a hitman who set certain rules for himself... only to break them all later when he met some random chick in a pharmacy store. I was like "duh" for the whole movie. Since the "chick" is dumb... dumb here being cannot speak... not stupid... it was kinda of a silent relationship for them. Their relationship blossomed at an amazing pace which is ridiculous for a normally shrewd and cautious killer.

I could not keep my eyeballs from turning heavenward when Joe (Nicholas Cage... the hitman) said that he did not kill Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm... Joe's delivery boy) as he usually does because he "saw" himself in Kong's eyes. That was like so blah!

Shahkrit Yamnarm however, is a little surprising. But then again, I did not keep tabs on actors from Thailand... he might have been already very famous in his homeland. At the beginning, he looked really like a crook... a pickpocket... shady kind of character. But suddenly, he is this justice fighting wannabe hitman. If only there're more scenes on him with his girlfriend...

Anyway, I might have been a little bit one-sided in my comments since I don't really like Nicholas Cage. Also, his portrayal of a hitman is just so... different. Basically, we usually have either a very cool hitman or a rugged looking down to earth type... however, with his receding hairline, long wavy, curly hair, pouty lips and eight figure eyebrows (meaning his eyebrows form the chinese figure of eight), he just doesn't have a convincing killer look... even when he was angry, or shooting like mad or tyring to be menacing.

Well, despite my scathing comments above, it is not exactly terrible... a little bit boring here and there, cliched here and there but at least I was awake for the whole movie :P.

Observation: What was Kong doing facing the river (I think) at the end of the movie? Usually, at these scenes, there would usually be a commentary that says he is learning to be a hitman or he is contend with a peaceful life... but nothing... just a scene of him looking at the river and poof... credits

Bottomline: Wait for 007.

Movie Review 7: Max Payne - A Man with A Gun

Title: Max Payne

Running time: 1 hour 40 minutes

Director: John Moore

Genre: Action, Thriller, Drama

For more than a month, I have waited for a movie that I am interested to watch. When I saw Max Payne in GSC website, I thought, “Finally, a worthy movie.” Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

Max Payne is a movie that is loosely based on a famous PC game with the same title. I did not play the game since I’m not interested in shooting games thus I take this movie as a standalone instead of game based movie. The movie is about a detective, Max Payne, whose family was brutally murdered in a break-in. He craved for vengeance and found that the death of his wife is not what it seemed.

Mark Wahlberg was given the cast of Max Payne. While a lot of die hard fans would say that Mark Wahlberg look nothing like Max Payne, I think that he managed to portray a character that is fighting his inner demons successfully. I don’t know why, but even though Mark Wahlberg was involved in a number of movies, I remembered his role most vividly in the movie called “The Big Hit”. I was a very old movie that I watched on Astro.

For a long while I had no idea what was happening in the movie. It was almost until 30 minutes later that I was able to piece together the pieces of information that the director flung at me throughout the movie. However, I was able to identify the ultimate boss early in the movie :P.

Since I did not play the PC game version of Max Payne, I found myself intrigued when there were actually monsters in the movie. However, a few more clues given by the director, I realized the truth. However, I was not really disappointed because in a way, the monsters were depicted nicely especially when a junkie/drug dealer was depicted as being pulled out of the building by a demon when he jumped out of it. During the climax when Max Payne had to fight of the ‘demons’ and humans, living in two worlds at the same time, I found it to be really mesmerizing too. Still, I think that if the demons were real, it would have been a much more addictive movie… but then again, this is a fantasy / sci-fi fan talking.

I think that the director/writer was trying to act mysterious when they refer to things as secrets of Gods or army of Demon. I had no idea what they were talking about when a crime boss said “The Devil is building his army. Max Payne is looking for something that God wants to stay hidden. That is what makes him dangerous.” This statement just came out of nowhere as if they just try to force this sentence into their conversation!

The game Max Payne is famous for its bullet-time effect too. If I remembered correctly, there were only two such moments in the movie. The scene where he shoot his shotgun while bending over in bullet-time was hilarious. I don't know why, but I had a really hard time to keep myself from bursting into laughter when watching that scene. Maybe you should watch it first and tell me why it was so funny. Unlike the game, there were also not much shooting scenes, which I didn't really mind. I mean, you can't really have a movie that have gunfights right from the beginning till the end, can you?

In conclusion, I find myself deeply dissatisfied with the movie. While not exactly disastrous, it is nevertheless one of those forgettable movies that we keep in our subconscious mind after we watched them. The movie makers were clearly leaving their options open for a second episode, but chances are they will not do so unless they managed to have a makeover for the movie.

Observation: How did Max Payne manage to get to the top of the building when the crime boss told his lackey to bomb the stairs to cut off Max Payne?

Bottomline: Forgettable

Bamboo Ranking: 3.0 / 5.0

A Night of Million Smiles

"Night of a Million Smiles"... that's the theme for my new company's annual dinner. I don't have any idea how the committee members came up with that theme... there were only about 800 people who attended the dinner... so where's the million smiles? :P

Anyway, as usual, I was one of the earliest people who arrived at Equatorial Hotel where the event was held. It was held at an unseemly day and unseemly time. Have you ever heard of annual dinners on Thursday that started at 5.15pm? I supposed they will get a cheaper rate if it's held on weekdays kua :P. Well, I have no complaints since we are all allowed to leave the company at 4pm. Since I'm staying very near to both the company and Equatorial Hotel, I managed to take a refreshing bath and change my clothes before going there... and yet, I'm still too early.

When it was mentioned that the event starts at 5.15pm, I knew that it meant 6.15pm Malaysian time. However, no matter how hard I tried, the idea of being late just made me uncomfortable. Thus, in the end, I still reached there before 5.15pm. I was hoping that at least I would have some company since the Witch and Doryfish and gang said that they are leaving the company and will go straight to the hotel at 4.45pm. Well, I guess I should have known better than to trust that :P. In the end, I had to sit alone in a table, fending off other colleagues, reserving the seats for my other gang members :P. I would like say, "I'm sorry, but the seats are filled" and my colleagues would look around and see nine empty chairs around the table... it was so embarrassing!

The empty table that I had to sit alone for 30 minutes!!!

Well, I supposed it was worth the wait. As Doryfish pointed out, they were late because they were making themselves 'presentable' so that they can be on my level (well, she didn't exactly said that, but that's what I heard :P). Here are their pics... presentable?... well, acceptable lor...

Doryfish and the Witch...

Swee Lin, Doryfish and the Witch... all are my lunch buddies!!!

While we were still waiting for the VVVIPs to arrive, Doryfish asked me to take a picture for her. Can you guess what it is?

Yup, it's the lights from the hotel... can it be categorized as chandelier? The clarity of the picture taken by my super camera never cease to amaze me :P

I guessed I should not have bragged too much about my camera because sick of hearing me preaching about my camera, Doryfish and the Witch formed an anti-Bamboo camera group and attempted to find the flaws in my camera... which they succeeded :(

Well, not exactly... they pointed out that the pictures taken by my camera are quite blurry as shown in my previous posts. Well, this is because I did not use flash for almost all of my photos and I doubt that there exist a point and shoot camera that can take clear pictures in dim places without flash. Below are two pictures taken in succession... one without flash and one with flash.

Group picture with flash...

Group picture without flash...

Sure, the picture did look clearer with flash, but the one without flash looks more natural. Besides, flashing your camera is something I find quite annoying... that and on top of those 'infrared' face scanner that most cameras have nowadays.

Well, enough blabbering... after some of the normal ritual speech, the first dish of the day is finally served! First, is the Equatorial Hot and Cold Combination Platter... I supposed that means the dish has cold and hot food kua... and it was quite a bad start. While it was a feast for the eyes, it doesn't have any tasty food. There is even one Thai style dish which contains cucumbers and stuff which doesn't taste Thai style at all!

Equatorial Hot and Cold Combination Platter

Well, I can't say I'm surprised but since there are eight dishes, surely at least some of them are nice... so I was anticipating eagerly for the second dish which sounds really nice... Hot and Sour Si Chuan Soup. Normally people use Shark Fin's but I supposed it's for cutting cost and being environment friendly? Frankly, I don't mind but again, the 'Hot and Sour' Si Chuan Soup is a big disappointment. I can see that it's Si Chuan style since the soup is laden with bean curd but it's not hot nor sour at all! Also, I tasted some really weird taste in the soup... yucks... two down, six to go.

Hot and Sour Si Chuan Soup

The next dish is Lemon Chicken with Lemon Saffron Sauce... well, the name sounds elegant, but in fact it's just those Lemon Chicken found in almost every Chinese restaurant. Anyway, you really have to be an idiot to spoil this dish... and it turned out that they are not... barely. The Lemon Chicken was barely acceptable... and this is coming from a meat lover. The chicken are okay but the sauce was... I don't know how to describe it except for using the word 'strange' :P. Anyway, they also put a Chinese herb with the dish "gei zhi"... which totally threw me off balance... that herb is basically useless since the lemon sauce covered the taste of the herb... I supposed they are using us as experiments?

Lemon Chicken with Saffron Lemon Sauce

I look over to the Witch sitting beside me and saw her taking out the chicken skin! Well, I supposed it's a normal thing nowadays, with people being so-called 'health-conscious' and all. What a waste... :P

Wasteful Witch... :P

Next, two dishes came at once... maybe people are complaining at the crawling pace of the food and are threatening to turn cannibal if the speed of the food servings are not increased? Anyway, the next two dishes are Whole Snapper Ikan Goreng on Sambal Chilli and Deep Fried Prawn with Butter and Egg Yolk. Really, can't they come up with a nicer name for the fish? Anyway, thankfully, these two dishes are nice enough for me to have three servings :P. The prawns are nicely fried and was very aromatic. The fish... well, the fish was quite difficult to eat since it was sort of held together by the flour and we had a hard time tearing the fish into pieces before taking it to our plates, but the sambal was good. Well, now we had five dishes in which two are good and one is acceptable... it's a tie!

Whole Snapper Ikan Goreng on Sambal Chilli and Deep Fried Prawn with Butter and Egg Yolk

As a part of the entertainment, we had some singers on stage singing Malay, English and Chinese songs. Also, we had a competition which the winner is the one with the best smile... sadly, I forgot to take a photo of the winner. However, I did take the picture for the next competition. It was the Best Style competition. They identified two males and two females who has the best style and ask us choose the winner. Frankly, like those idol competitions, it's more of a popularity contest than being really stylish. The more well-known you are, the more people will vote for you.

The finalists of the Best Style contest... if this is the best style out of 800 people, you now know why I did not take pictures of other people in the dinner :P

Next, again, two dishes were served in the same time. They are Yong Chow Fried Rice and Sayur Campur Malaysia. The fried rice is acceptable, but I suspect mostly because I was still hungry... but it definitely wasn't Yong Chow Fried Rice. As for the Sayur Campur Malaysia, as you can deduced from the name they used, it's just terrible... but we must eat our greens, don't we?

Yong Chow Fried Rice

Sayur Campur Malaysia

Finally, came the dessert... which the emcee claimed is the best dish for the night. It came and I was amazed. It looks really nice... and each of us has our own personal cup of dessert! The dessert is Mango Pudding with Sago Cream. I took a bite and the night of disappointment is finally complete. I won't say it's terrible, but it is just tasteless. I supposed it might have been due to the chocolate wafer stick I ate before digging into the mango pudding, but I doubt that. In fact, the mangoes littered on the plate tasted much, much nicer than the mango pudding in the cup... and the coconut flakes on top were just too sweet... and that is from someone with a sweet tooth!

Mango Pudding with Sago Cream

In all, it was not a really nice dinner. But then again, I have never had any nice dinner in hotels. I don't know why they can make such nice buffet lunch and dinner but totally flopped in course dinner. Anyway, as I have always said, it is the company that is the most important... although since we are sitting really near to the sound system, we can barely talk at all. Next time, they really should have buffet dinner instead. But then again, you'll have 800 people milling around the grand hall... and that would be a sight to behold! :P

The Day When Bamboo Went Blind... Almost

Okay, the title was a little bit exaggerated... but it's the truth that something bad and mysterious happened to my vision on last Sunday. As usual, I woke up early that morning and went hiking. There's nothing noticeable wrong with my visions. Then, I went to have breakfast... I had half-boiled egg and toasted bread for breakfast.

After that, I went back to have a shower and out of boredom, I went to Coffee Bean to go online with my laptop. Up until that point, that day was just like any other... nothing out of ordinary... just the plain old boring schedule.

However, when I left Coffee Bean at around 12 afternoon, I almost fell to the ground. My eyes were unable to focus at all! Immediately, I sat down and check my spectacles. Sometimes, my spectacles would get dirty and will somewhat distort my vision (though I have never experienced one that can upset my balance). Sure, the glasses were a little bit dirty and I used a napkin to clean it.

I put my clean glasses on and I 'saw' the same thing again... I am able to see things but it's like my eyes were acting out of sync and I was unable to focus on details like words. I don't really know how else to explain it. It was almost like seeing a double of everything except that I was not! It was like looking at things when I go cross-eyed and yet, it wasn't really like that. I just can't make out details but I have no problem seeing things. I tried to read this novel I had with me and I kept on reading two lines at once!

I was really afraid and I checked my eyes one by one and they worked fine! I was really baffled. By now, I was already having some pretty disturbing thoughts on what could have caused this unnatural disorder. Maybe not enough sleep? But I have tried not sleeping for 36 hours straight and this thing never happened to me.

Then I thought of the pot luck dinner yesterday and thought... food poisoning... but that had to be one good poison to have these effects. Or maybe the Witch's evil brewed potions did work afterall???!!!!! Maybe I slept in an unatural position and thus my blood vessel or brain was somehow dislodged, moved, disoriented?

Or maybe I pushed myself too hard during hiking? Or my history in consuming huge amounts of sugar has finally caught up with me and I'm going blind? I heard that one can go blind during the final stages of diabetes... but I don't have diabetes (as of May 2008) Or has my vision deteriorated so much that even glasses will not help me correct my visions? Was it a curse? Is the end near? Did I expose my eyes to toxic fumes? Will this be the new disease where they'll name it after me? And no, I did not do drugs!!!

Anyway, baffled by all these, I decided to go home and have a good sleep... and thus maybe somehow my body would naturally correct this disorder. You have no idea how difficult it is to drive partially blind... well, I was not exactly blind... it's just that if I was hit by a car, I woin't be able to read it's car plate at all... also, I was unable to read the road signs... of course, being a regular driver of these roads every week does come in handy. I slept for 3 hours and woke up still with the unnatural vision!

Okay, so my next option would have to be the hospital, I thought. But being a really stubborn person, I refuse to seek out professional help. Well, the last thing that I did before getting this 'sickness' was going online. So, I thought maybe it's the laptop's harmful rays that cause it. And as the Chinese saying goes, "to cure poison, you must use poison." So, I attempted to play pc games with my laptop!

An hour later, my troubling vision seemed to have improved! Since it was already late and I still did not have dinner (I skipped lunch :( ), I decided to go online while having dinner to continue this 'special' healing process. However, I passed by an optometrist shop and I remembered my glasses were a little bit twisted since I accidentally sat on it :P. So, I entered the shop and requested the staff there to repair my glasses. Lo and behold, after repairing my glasses, I found my vision returning back to normal!

But surely it can't be due to the glasses since I was wearing the same pair in the morning when my eyesight deteriorated. My eyesight was okay before breakfast and deteriorated after breakfast while my glasses still remain the same! I really cannot figure out this mysterious encounter.

My final conclusion is that maybe my "laptop medication" corrected my eyesight and it took some time for it to become normal... however, this meant that the underlying problem is not solved! Luckily all these were temporarily solved before attending my 2-day training course or else I really don't know what to do.

X-Gen Chefs

It has been almost two years since I last cooked a dish. The reason is all the houses that I rented does not have fully equipped kitchen. Thus, when the Witch mentioned Doryfish's house, I jumped at the opprotunity :P.

We came up with this idea of pot luck dinner... meaning each person will cook one dish and grouped together to make one complete meal. Needless to say, I offered to make my famous Bamboo specialty... Honey Chicken. Those who know me, would know that I brag a lot... not that I'm being arrogant... I was just providing some comic relief. However, it is the truth when I say that my Honey Chicken is one of the best D grade dish around. This dish was specially created for my cooking competition where the ingredients are unknown to contestants until the day of the competition itself. Thus, I created this dish, which uses only the most basic ingredients. Alas, I did not win the competition, but the judge did come personally to praise my cooking skills :P.

Of course, apart from Honey Chicken, I know how to cook several C grade dishes and two B grade dish. However, these C grade and above dishes needed quite long preparation time and special ingredients. Thus, I opt not to dazzle my lunch buddies with these dishes.

On the day itself, I went to Jusco to purchase my chicken. However, there were only four options for me... drumstick, wing, breast and whole. I chose chicken breast. Later only I realized my mistake in choosing chicken breast. In my previous cookings, I always use chicken wings. However, I misinterpreted Doryfish's meaning when she said she does not eat chicken wings. Chicken breast are used mostly for soup and not for frying du
e to their rough and dry interior.

Anyway, I prepped the chicken back in my house. I was really shocked that the chicken from Jusco still have lots of small feathers stuck to the skin. It took me nearly half an hour to throughly clean the chicken.

When the time came, I drove to Doryfish's place according to the map that the Witch gave me. Following are the pictures taken from the event:-

Doryfish and the Witch preparing the meals

A view from Doryfish's place...

The Witch brewing her potions...

See the Witch's sinister smile as she pours in her 'special' sauces?

Doryfish's turn in the kitchen...

Doryfish posing a professional chef pose...

What the Witch did when Doryfish is toiling in the kitchen :P

Finally, the dishes are all cooked... first, is the Witch's pork chops and her 'special' sauce

My fried chicken without the sauce...

The complete stunning Honey Chicken... looks like prepared by a real pro chef :P

Doryfish's mushroom...

Doryfish's spare ribs groundnuts soup

The final complete meal setting...

Needless to say, the Witch is the first to eat... :P

We were so lucky! It was Doryfish's bf birthday the day before our pot luck and thus, we were able to taste the delicious ice cream cake from Baskin' Robbins!

So, who's the winner? Well, it's a tie. Doryfish, after seeing my dish, wisely pulled out of the competition :P. As I mentioned earlier, the chicken breast in unsuitable for frying and thus, my chicken was dry and rough. However, all agreed that my sauce is heavenly :P.

The Witch's pork chop on the other hand, is nicely grilled... HOWEVER, her 'special' sauce was on the same par of my chicken breasts :P. So, if her meat used my sauce, it would be a perfect combination.

Of course, the Witch insisted that meat is more important than sauce. However, I pointed out that it would be easier for me to perfect my dish since all I had to do is to change the chicken breast into some other body parts while she still haven't figured out the perfect combination of her sauce :P

After that, we were invited into Doryfish's bf special room where there's this really huge projector screen used to watch movies from Blu-Ray format! OMG... so envy... and there's a PS3 too! I have this sudden urge to rush to the nearest Sony Center to purchase the PS3 d... and we watch this old movie called "Dark City". It is really apparent to see the difference between a Blu-Ray disc and a normal disc. When watching this movie, I was able to watch some great details on things that would normally be unavailable in old movies.

All things considered, it was a great activity. Unfortunately, at 4am, I woke up with the need to visit the toilet several times... now, I'm looking for someone to blame... myself not included of course :P

What I Did During the Raya Holidays

01/10/2008
Woke up at 9am. Planned to go for hiking at 7am but someone seemed to have turned off the alarm which is supposed to go off at 6.30am. Ah well, there’s always tomorrow. Since it’s 9am, the time is just right for my backup plan. Did the ritual morning stuff and reached shopping complex at 9.45am.

Hooray! The big table is empty. Sat down at the table meant for 4 people and have my breakfast while using my laptop to go online.I must thank profusely the person who created Facebook. It saved me from having a bored breakfast. Played “League of Heroes” almost every 10 minutes. Also played Mousehunt, Ultimate Hitman, Dungeons and Dragons, Poker, Blackjack and Bubble Town.

Next, went to the bookshop where they are having a 20% discount on novels when you purchase a magazine! It has been almost two months from my last novel purchase. I figured that spending RM30++ for a book that I can finish in less than a week is just not worth it. But wanting to spend the 20% coupon, I finally purchase a novel by Rob Thurman with the title “Madhouse”. It’s a fantasy novel about two brothers fighting supernatural forces in the city… kind of like “Dresden Files” series which is one of my favorites.

Wanted to eat sushi but there is a long, long line waiting in front of the restaurant. I just don’t understand people. No food is worth the wait in a line that long. Instead, I chose the good old KFC. Finishing that, I went home and start watching anime, “One Piece.” A very nice anime, very funny too and at some episodes will tug at your heartstrings.

Then, went to Old Town Coffee shop to have my dinner. The dry curry noodle is quite nice, although it has quite a strong “Indian curry” flavour. The “Xi Mut” Iced Tea is nice too… for a person who do not drink coffee. For those who do drink coffee, maybe you should try the famed “White Coffee”… no guarantees, though.
Went home and play pc game… new game, quite similar like Heroes of Might and Magic… and it managed to keep me engrossed until 1am before I retire for the day

02/10/2008
Woke up at 7am and planned to hike today. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs and I crept back into my cozy bed and warm comforter. Woke up again at 9am. Today, going to a shopping complex far away… need more than 30 minutes drive. Reach there around 10.15am and had breakfast at Coffee Bean. Go online with my laptop too… sigh, I shudder at the thought of not having the laptop with me. Watch several episodes of “One Piece” there too. Finally left at 12 noon.

Stop by at the Popular bookstore but found no new novels that interest me and the new magazines for the month of October is not in yet. Spotted a Sony center that sells PS3. Went in and listen to the salesman brag about it to a big group of people. Sigh… I can’t get the PS3 without a TV… and it would just be a waste if I use a 15” TV to play PS3 games. Hmmm… note to self… go back and ask mum whether can take the 29” TV back here :P

2pm… hungry again. Stopped by at this place called “Manila Place”. Had lamb chop and tom yam soup. Nice, but the main reason I eat there is because it has free Wifi! So, go online again while eating. I’m the only one with a laptop in the restaurant. 4pm start to leave the shopping complex. Luckily, there’s no car jam… reached home in less than 30 minutes. Open up my laptop again and continue my pc game.

10pm… a little bit hungry… so go to McDonalds and eat while reading my new novel.

03/10/2008
Have to go to work today. I supposed I could have take leave even though technically I’m not allowed to. Well, it’s not as if I have anything to do at home anyway. Very boring day at office since no one is online in MSN and no one to talk to. Just read up some stuff here and there and did some rudimentary work, planning. Had to try very hard to keep my eyes open.

Lunch came and I decided to eat outside. Should not have done so. Eating outside within one hour is definitely pushing it. Got some stupid people who is blocking my side of the road thus preventing me from leaving the car park of the shopping complex. Then, reached office to find that the car park in front is full and had to park at the car park at the back, which then I have to walk for 10 minutes before reaching my place. To make things worse, it started to drizzle too. Definitely not a good lunch.

Finally, the clock struck 5 and I immediately went home while grabbing some KFC along the way. Sat down in front of my laptop and watch “One Piece.”

04/10/2008
Woke up at 8am. Too late and sunny to hike. So, had breakfast instead. Already filled with people… I thought all people “balik kampung” already.

Went to shopping complex again. This time only order a glass of iced tea while I use my laptop to go online again. After that, went to another shopping complex to purchase DVDs.

Reached home and watch the new movies I purchased.
Realised at 4pm that I did not have lunch. Went out and purchase a “Chicken Cordon Bleu” from Secret Recipe… nice, but too expensive.
Continued to play pc game and read several more chapters of my new novel before going to sleep and ended up finishing the book.

05/10/2008
Woke up at 6am to the loud peal of thunder. Rained even more heavily than Thursday’s. Assumed it’s God’s way of telling me to go back to sleep. Woke up again at 9am. Went to breakfast at Starbucks… while online, of course. Then, went to bookstore to spend my remaining 20% voucher. Bought a 3 in 1 book that is the “Legend of Drizzt” series. The story is a little bit light for my taste, but acceptable.

Finally saw no one lining up at Sakae Sushi. I think my bill was around RM40 for lunch. Leave the shopping complex and went shopping at Giant. Still saw people buying bulks and bulks of food and drinks… I guess the economy did not really slowed as much as claimed, huh?

Finished my weekly grocery shopping and went home and continue my anime watching and pc game playing. Walked across the street to the restaurant located opposite my house and had dinner there while reading my newly bought novel.

Continued my pc game until my eyes started to close by itself and refuse to open. Went for a shower and feel refreshed, but I shut down my laptop and sit down to read my novel. Slept at 2am.
